With over a decade of experience working both sides of a camera (pageantry & modeling) rest assured you will be in capable hands.
My heart is in the story of family connection. I value family, nostalgia, movies, good conversation and love.
Believer in the details - in what makes people who they are. I don't think there is anything more interesting than figuring out the tiny quirks of the people you love. I am here for all of that!
Give me the babies who play with their mama's hair for comfort, the wild ones who will never sit still (because I've got one of those too!). and the mamas and daddies in the thick of it. This is it, people.
Time isn't slowing down. I know that for sure. Let's hang onto these moments for as long as we can... and occasionally hang them on our walls. Some days I wish I could just stop time, and soak this all in for as long as possible.
The person behind the lens...
My name is Janine Pretorius. I am a born and bred Free Stater but now call the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg my home. I am a mother, wife, beauty queen, and of course, a photographer. I am the proud title holder of Mrs. Africa 2022, and I use every aspect of my photography business to grow, learn and reach out to others around me.
When I am not photographing weddings or families I like to spend my time with my husband and son. I also love doing charity work and helping aspiring models to reach their full potential.
My photographic journey started in 2008 when I graduated from high school. I gained lots of experience after many years of learning, growing, assisting, and second shooting with other photographers. I photographed my first wedding in 2014 and my first family session in 2012.
I left my full-time teaching career at the end of 2019 to full-fill my dream of owning my own business and being home with my son.
I also have a studio at my home, where I create adorable cake smash sessions and also mini-sessions for every celebration of the year.
Having the opportunity to photograph a session, is something so special and something so incredible. Not only is each session COMPLETELY unique, but I also love the whirlwind of emotions and the little moments going on in-between everything.
